Before the menopause, there is a gradual transition which is named the Perimenopause and during this stage it will be helpful to consider ways in which you can both prevent and manage symptoms as they arise in order to support the menopause journey from the beginning, rather than leaving it later down the line when symptoms have started and in some cases are intolerable. Lorna will talk about how to improve your diet, support brain function and optimise your hormonal health with our holistic health plan for the mind and body. She will also discuss the pros and cons for using HRT which is on most women’s mind at the moment. In their search for alternatives, many women have found that yoga, including restorative and supportive poses, can ameliorate the undesirable side effects of menopause, like hot flashes, anxiety and irritability, and more… The intention of this 4 hr retreat is to provide a nourishing practice in an open-minded and safe space. Julie will include breath (pranayama), rhythmic and restorative yoga postures (asana) and a meditation that promote healthy menopause. All Workshops and retreats must be paid in advance online.
